There's no emoticon for what I'm feeling right now

On the one hand, Lay is finally declared guilty! Huzzah! But my guess is that he will never go to jail, and there are sure to be many years of appeals. Huzzah.

And on the other hand, I learn that Congress has passed a law targetting Fred Phelps, to make sure his merry little band doesn't show up at any more military funerals. Great. Violating the Constitution to target someone who wasn't of any concern to Congress until he started bothering, you know, normal folks. Lovely.

At least I am about to leave for Wiscon and see my family, at which point I'll be able to forget about all of this and enjoy myself for three days.

If you come to the Farmer's Market at the Capitol between 10 and 12 on Saturday morning you might get a chance to see me dance Morris. You'll certainly see Morris dancing, anyway.

Most of the world thinks Bush sucks

Bush goes ballistic about other countries being evil and dangerous, because they have weapons of mass destruction. But, he insists on building up even a more deadly supply of nuclear arms right here in the US. What do you think? What is he doing to us, and what is he doing to the world?
If ever there was ever a time in our nation's history that called for a change, this is it!
The more people that the government puts in jails, the safer we are told to think we are. The real terrorists are wherever they are, but they aren't living in a country with bars on the windows. We are.
