Closeups of bees are tricky as all get-out, on account of their skittishness and apparent six sense with regard to when you'll try to open the shutter. But I can't stop trying.

Isn't that a wasp, with the yellow rings? It's a bit difficult to see; how thick or thin it is also matters.

I think it's too hairy to be a wasp, and its behavior was definitely bee-like, not wasp-like.
